Phil Everly, who along with his brother, Don, made up one of the greatest duos in the history of American popular music, has died at age 74.
The Everlys weren’t just a cute teenage act. They had beautifully matched voices and recorded songs that are now standards. I sincerely doubt much of the music that flies to the top of the charts these days will have the longevity of the classics the Everly Brothers made famous.
