Too good to put off until Sunday:

That is really grotesque! Ick! K

Oh, I don’t know about it being so grotesque as an honest satirical dismissal of people who believe God is behind everything connected to their loved one’s passing all too soon. Let’s see: “It was his time.” or “The good die young.” or “He was called home to God.” or “God needs angels.” Actually, that last one by itself wins the grotesqueness prize. Then there’s the other side of the coin when the person lives: “It’s a miracle from God!” or “God didn’t need her yet.” or “Our prayers were answered.” The last one, in this case, begs a response about the prayers that didn’t work. Where they undeserving? Did God hate their cancerous four-year old? Yep, God’s got all the bases covered and his “acts” are admirable no matter what hell is delivered. Blind faith is definitely the solace of blind fools. That is what, IMHO, reeks of grotesqueness.
For another vision of grotesque imagine this: Lady Gaga’s performance last night at SXSW included a performance artist who vomited paint and another gross black liquid on Gaga as she performed. Sometimes art is just too upsetting. Even satire.
Maybe I should have headed the post as “Something You’ll Wish You Never Saw”. Sorry it disturbed you.
