Gay History Dept.: Amazing!

11 May

Michael Sam

Michael Sam has made sports history by becoming the first openly gay man to enter the National Football League. He’ll be playing for the St. Louis Rams.

Congratulations Michael!

Meanwhile, at the Eurovision Song Contest, Conchita Wurst, a bearded and brave drag queen proved who was best by winning the competition for her home country of Austria. This is the first win for Austria in almost 50 years. Needless to say, some other backward contestant countries like Russia and Belarus were not pleased an openly gay man won the contest. Fuck ’em.

Congratulations Conchita!

Conchita Wurst

Step by baby step we move forward in amazing ways we’d have never suspected could happen mere years ago. It takes brave and talented individuals like these to help that forward momentum continue.
